A roll film negative. On board the Tribal class type 81 frigate Mohawk (1962) in Portsmouth Dockyard. She was in a dry dock from 21 March to 11 April 1972 when she moved to the South Railway Jetty. In the communications control room (receiving) between 41 and 43 stations on the port side of 3 deck. The photographer is looking to port from the starboard side at the forward end of the compartment showing a control panel on the left with warning notices about radioactive valves and electricity on the side of a cupboard and shelf unit. On the deckhead is a fire detection unit with a radioactive symbol on it. On the port side of the ship is an electronic control unit with a hand-written sign above it stating "Take care and do not touch anything". Receiver units are on the right. A vertical format negative.
