A roll film negative. On board the Tribal class type 81 frigate Mohawk (1962) in Portsmouth Dockyard. She was in a dry dock from 21 March to 11 April 1972 when she moved to the South Railway Jetty, where this photograph was taken. The photographer is on the port side of the quarterdeck (1 deck) looking aft and to starboard at 84 station showing the type 182 sonar towing winch and the cable drum under canvas covers. Alongside the ensign staff is a type 182 sonar decoy stored vertically at the towing casting. On the right is the VDS fitted stern of the Type 81 frigate Ashanti (1959). A number of motor cars are parked on South Railway Jetty in the background.
