Mohawk (1962). The MRS3 director and foremast from the bridge top.

A roll film negative. On board the Tribal class type 81 frigate Mohawk (1962) in Portsmouth Dockyard. She was in a dry dock from 21 March to 11 April 1972 when she moved to the South Railway Jetty, where this photograph was taken. The photographer is on the top of the bridge (02 deck level) at 42 station looking aft showing the MRS3 director trained to starboard. Behind it is the Type 993 radar aerial on it support structure. On the lower foremast is the cheese aerial for the type 978 radar and at the head of the foremast the mattress aerial for the type 965M radar can just be seen. A seaman is repairing the rigging on the port yardarm of the foremast. Fort Blockhouse and Haslar are in the right background. A vertical format negative.
