Mohawk (1962). Looking aft from the forecastle.

A roll film negative. On board the Tribal class type 81 frigate Mohawk (1962) in Portsmouth Dockyard. She was in a dry dock from 21 March to 11 April 1972 when she moved to the South Railway Jetty, where this photograph was taken. The photographer is standing at the bow on 1 deck looking aft showing the twin-headed electric capstan, deck pipes, hawse pipes and cables on the forecastle ahead of the breakwater. Also seen are the forward 4.5 inch gun, the bridge with the ship's crest fixed to the top of it, the MRS3 director and the foremast. Fort Blockhouse and Haslar are in the right background and South Railway jetty is on the left. A vertical format negative.
