On board the type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) alongside the fitting out berth of Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd at Linthouse, Glasgow. The photographer is in the wheelhouse between 27½ and 29 stations on 1 deck looking forward and to starboard showing the ship's wheel fitted to the telemotor transmitter with the engine order transmitter on the left and the revolution transmitter on the right. A voicepipe up to the bridge at 01 level and a microphone are in the top right. A rudder indicator and a gyro repeater are mounted on the forward bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
