On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960) alongside the fitting out berth of Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd at Linthouse, Glasgow. The photographer is in the GDS (gunnery direction system) & ASP (automatic surface plot) amplifier compartment between 30 and 31½ stations on the port side of 1 deck looking aft and to port from the doorway. On the aft bulkhead are a visual display unit, marker interlacing cabinet, convertor cabinet and generator cabinet. Agasinst the port side of the ship are an amplifier assembly and power packs.
