On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960) alongside the fitting out berth of Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd at Linthouse, Glasgow. The photographer is in the operations room between 31 and 35½ stations on 1 deck looking aft and to port from the centreline forward. On the right is a relay cabinet with an emergency lamp above it and the door to the captain's bathroom beyond it. The chart table is in the centre and on the left is an angled screen above two steel cases reference AP.205663 manufactured by Standard Telephones and Cables Ltd in 1959.
