On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960) alongside the fitting out berth of Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd at Linthouse, Glasgow. The photographer is in the asdic control room between 35 and 39 stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking forward and to starboard from near the door into the passageway. The three positions on the left against the forward bulkhead are the central operator console, range console and depth console. Against the ship's side are a large distribution box, two main starter panels, a range console and a bearing console. The C.O's. chair is on a raised platform on the right.
