Lion HMS July 1794
Hand-coloured soft-ground etching. A view from the bow of Lion, a three-masted third-rate ship of the line, sailing before the wind in a gentle breeze. The ship carries royals and topmast studding sails which are designed for use in lighter winds. In the background are four other vessels.
