On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960) under way on the River Clyde during final trials prior to commissioning at Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd shipyard at Linthouse, Glasgow. The photographer is is standing at 63 station on the starboard side of 1 deck looking forward. On the left is the Limbo mortar well with the 40 mm bofors gun on 01 deck above. The aerial for the Type 994 radar is at the top of the short mainmast. The 27 feet motor whaler is in its davits. The type 293Q cheese aerial is on the port side of the foremast with the FH4 HF/DF aerial at the top of the mast. A vertical format negative.
