On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960) alongside the fitting out berth of Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd at Linthouse, Glasgow. The photographer is in the main naval store between 8 and 12½ station on 3 deck looking aft and to port from the forward starboard corner. The space is fitted out with aluminium alloy racks that have wooden faced ends and contain a large number of small drawers and open shelves. On the left is the watertight hatch leading down to the asdic compartment on 4 deck.
