The photographer is in the conversion machinery room between 31 and 35½ stations on the starboard side of 3 deck looking aft and to starboard. In the left foreground is a dual output motor generator with a director metadyne partly hidden between it and a motor generator. Rectifier cabinets are against the ship's side. Cable connectors, a telephone and an emergency hand lamp are on a pillar in the centre. Two DYE motor generators are beyond the pillar and the DYE control boards are against the aft bulkhead.
