The photographer is in the conversion machinery room between 31 and 35½ stations on the starboard side of 3 deck looking forward and to port. In the left foreground are two DYE motor generators and a battery unit. Cable connectors, a telephone and an emergency hand lamp are on a pillar in the centre. Two dual output motor generators, a director metadyne and a motor generator are beyond the pillar. Various starter panels, fuse boxes and control units are against the port and forward bulkheads.
