On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960) alongside the fitting out berth of Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd at Linthouse, Glasgow. The photographer is in the gyro compass room looking to starboard showing the master compass. The compass retransmission unit is on the starboard bulkhead and a small motor generator is on the deck below it. The gyro unit and two telephones are against the aft bulkhead. Two junction boxes are against the forward bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
