On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the mortar metadyne power room between 65 and 67 stations on 3 deck looking aft and to starboard from the door. The cover over the metadyne generator is in the foreground and dismounted side panels are laying on top of it. An amplifier assembly and a control panel are against the starboard bulkhead and two junction boxes are against the aft bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
