On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the port bridge wing between 30 and 34 stations on 01 deck looking forward from 34 station. An azimuth repeater is on the left with the platform for the 10 inch signalling projector operator next to it. A fire extinguisher, a box for the hand signalling lantern and a telephone are against the wing screen. A vertical format negative.
