On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the switchboard room between 31 and 32¼ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking forward and to port from near the door showing No. 1 rectifier in a cabinet labelled 'Control & communication switchboard D.C. section' manufactured by William White (Switchgear) Ltd of London. On the left are the two sliding door cupboards used for film stowage. A vertical format negative.
