The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the pump space between 21½ and 24¾ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the pump space between 21½ and 24¾ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking forward from 23 station showing a Laurence Scott Electromotors control gear starter panel at high level above a pump motor on the left. A lubricating oil tank is in the port forward corner and a cupboard is in the starboard forward corner. A fire extinguisher is fixed to the side of the cupboard and another is against the side of the ship.
