On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the galley and preparation space between 41 and 46 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft and to starboard in the galley area at 42 station showing the deep fryer in the corner with two ovens and the hotplate range on the right. A pan rack is on the left with the deep fryer control panel above it.
