On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the galley and preparation space between 41 and 46 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft and to starboard from 44 station in the preparation space showing a worktop and shelf stacked high with boxes and pans. The front of the worktop unit shows signs of being cleaned with metal polish. In the corner is the cold room.
