On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the galley and preparation space between 41 and 46 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking forward and to starboard from 45 station on the starboard side of the preparation space showing a Lec chest refrigerator next to a sink unit and an ice cream machine. The control panel for the cold room is against the ship's side next to a covered scuttle.
