On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the servery between 44 and 46¼ stations on 2 deck looking forward showing a hot cupboard with a grill and a Camwheat Cold Moulding pie and tart machine above it and an Hobart meat slicing machine on the starboard end. The arched doorway into the preparation space is on the right. A dustbin is in the left foreground.
