On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the junior rates' mess between 57 and 62½ stations on 3 deck looking to port from the starboard side at 62 station showinh a bunk unit on the extreme right with a mirror mounted by the end of it. Kit lockers are on the left and right and the back of a triple tier bunk unit is in the background. A vertical format negative.
