On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 41 and 49 stations on 2 deck looking forward and to starboard from 48 station showing a boiler room vent with a first aid box fixed to it. The servery is on the left with plate dispensers in front of it and the roller shutter closed. A vertical format negative.
