On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 41 and 49 stations on 2 deck looking to port from 47 station showing the door to the Engineer's office on the left and the open door to the provision issue room on the right. Between the doors are a change over and switch connection box, a two speed fan starter panel, a smoke mask box, three distribution boxes, a tannoy and a radiator fuse box.
