On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 41 and 49 stations on 2 deck looking to port from 45 station showing the alcove between the provision issue room and the scullery. On the deck is a portable fuel oil transfer pump and against the bulkhead is a transformer and its distribution box. On the left is a distribution box, a fuse box and a junction panel. On the right are two distribution boxes and a Type SCP starter panel. A vertical format negative.
