The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the passageway between 41 and 49 stations on 2 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 41 and 49 stations on 2 deck looking aft and to starboard from 44 station showing the servery with the plate dispensers in front of it and the roller shutter closed. On the left is the hot water urn. The boiler downtake is alongside the open watertight door in the bulkhead at 49 station.
