The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the passageway between 30¾ and 41 stations on 2 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 30¾ and 41 stations on 2 deck looking aft from 38 station showing the open watertight hatch leading down to the officers' cabins on 3 deck and the ladder leading up to 1 deck in the foreground. The door to the wardroom is on the left and a telephone and an automatic emergency lantern are next to it. Beyond the sliding door to the officers' bathroom is the open watertight door in the bulkhead at 41 station.
