The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the passageway between 30¾ and 41 stations on 2 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 30¾ and 41 stations on 2 deck looking forward and up at the deckhead from 36 station showing the stairs leading up to 1 deck adjacent to the open watertight door in the bulkhead at 30¾ station. Cable stowage brackets, electrical boxes and an international compressed air breathing apparatus box are against the side bulkheads. The deckhead is covered by cable runs and lagged pipework. A vertical format negative.
