The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). Liferaft stowage to port of the enclosed bridge on 01 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is on the roof of the enclosed bridge looking down, forward and to port from 29 station showing the liferaft stowage platform on 01 deck. An empty cable reel and a lifejacket box are on either side of the platform and an exhaust vent is in the top left of the picture.
