The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). Liferaft stowage on the starboard side of 01 deck at 29 station.
On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is on the roof of the enclosed bridge looking down, aft and to starboard from 28 station showing two liferafts on their stowage platform on 01 deck. A ready use smoke marker locker is by the side of the liferafts and a supply vent is in the top left of the picture.
