The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). Looking aft on the starboard side of 01 deck at 35 station.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is on the starboard side of 01 deck looking aft and to port from 35 station showing the air treatment unit in the left foreground. On the right is the 2 inch rocket flare locker. The central superstructure includes the support tower for the MRS3 director, a smoke marker locker, the 3 inch rocket magazine, the audio frequency compartment and the base of the funnel.
