The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). The torpedo maintenance room from the flight deck at 1 deck level.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is on the starboard side of the flight deck at 60 station on 1 deck looking forward and up showing the door to the torpedo maintenance room open. To the left of the open door are the wind speed and wind direction indicators. The roller shutter hangar door is closed. The ventilation unit doors at 01 level are open. Suspended from a rail above 01 deck level is a row of flight deck landing lights. A vertical format negative.
