The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). Liferaft stowage on the starboard side between 51 and 53½ stations at 01 deck level.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is on the starboard side of 1 deck looking forward and up from 55 station showing the liferaft stowage on the side of the hangar at 01 deck level. Alongside the west side of the basin are a tank cleaning vessel converted from a trawler and a modern water boat.
