On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 49 and 63 stations on 2 deck looking aft and to port from 50 station showing the bulkhead of the Seacat guided weapons system magazine. An automatic emergency lantern and various starter panels, distribution, fuse and junction boxes and a hose nozzle are fitted to this bulkhead. A small group of men are standing outside the junior rates' dining hall.
