On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 49 and 63 stations on 2 deck looking aft and to port from 55½ station showing a double door stores cupboard, an international compressed air breathing apparatus Mk. 2 cabinet and a transformer against the junior rates' bathroom bulkhead. An air hose and tool is on the deck. A vertical format negative.
