On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the combined radar office between 36½ and 41 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking to port from 39 station showing ventilation trunking and fan boxes. Type 993 radar control unit and power unit boxes are against the port bulkhead in the corner of the office. A vertical format negative.
