On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the amplifier compartment between 34 and 35¾ stations on the port side of 2 deck looking to starboard showing two desks against the forward bulkhead. An Imperial 66 typewriter is on the nearest desk and a telephone switchboard is on the furthest one. A distribution panel and a fuse box are against the starboard bulkhead.
