The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). The starboard side bridge wing at 01 deck level.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is looking forward and down from the air lookout position at 02 level into the starboard bridge wing at 01 deck level. A tannoy and an azimuth repeater are in the right foreground. A telephone, two microphones, another tannoy speaker and two hand grenade storage boxes are against the bridge wing screen. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. A vertical format negative.
