On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the MRS 3 director support tower between 34¼ and 36¼ stations on 01 deck looking forward showing a chest of drawers with an 8000 volt transmitter/receiver unit on it. On the left is an MRS 3 Mod 3 fire control circuit panel.
