On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the sonar instrument compartment between 12½ and 16 stations on 3 deck looking forward and to starboard from 13 station on the starboard side showing electrical cabinets labelled 'First aid units patt. A4010 or A4428, A4015 or A4429'. Against the forward bulkhead are two junction boxes and a unit control switch box. Sitting on top of the unit control switch box is a cardboard box from the Hytron Corporation, Salem, Mass, USA, with the reference JAN-807 VT.100.A, Order No. 26678, accepted August 1943. A vertical format negative.
