On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the switchboard room between 11½ and 14 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking aft and to port from the doorway showing the Crompton Parkinson synchronising selectors panel and the cabinet is equipped with rectifiers, power readout gauges, two small breaker switch, a main breaker arm, emergency connection boxes and generator and busbar indicators.
