The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the torpedo maintenance room between 54 and 57 stations on the starboard side of 1 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the torpedo maintenance room between 54 and 57 stations on the starboard side of 1 deck looking forward and to starboard from 56½ station showing a workbench with a combination locked cupboard and a double sliding door cupboard above it. Next to the workbench are steel ramps and on the right is an H.P. air or nitrogen pressure testing instrument board. Against the forward bulkhead are a first aid cabinet, a notice board and stowage brackets for ½ inch bore hose. A torpedo cradle is on the deck.
