On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the G.W.S. (guided weapons system) power room between 47¾ and 51½ stations on 1 deck looking aft and slightly to starboard from the doorway showing a double pedestal desk with a wooden chair. A starter panel, two double sliding door cupboards and two distribution boxes are against the aft bulkhead. A manual titled 'Weapon Equipment Spare Parts Identification Lists' is on the back of the desk. A C.P.O's cap and a name plaque reading 'C.P.O. A Parry' are on the desk. A vertical format negative.
