The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the weapons workshop between 16 and 19 stations on the starboard side of 3 deck.
On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the weapons workshop between 16 and 19 stations on the starboard side of 3 deck looking aft and to starboard showing the workbench against the ship's side. It is equipped with a Record model 36 vice and a smaller Samsonia Perfect model J37 vice and has a blackboard above it.. Nests of drawers and a cupboard are against the aft bulkhead. in the lobby beyond the sliding door is a hatch leading down to the pump metadyne compartment on 4 deck.
