On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the operations room between 31¼ and 35½ stations on 1 deck looking forward and to starboard from the starboard side at 33 station showing the anti-submarine warfare officer's position. Two visual display units are in the centre of the picture and a main broadcast alarm push is in the top right. A vertical format negative.
