On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the operations room between 31¼ and 35½ stations on 1 deck looking to port from the starboard side at 33 station showing the L.O.P. officer's plotting table on the right. A visual display unit is on the left with a telephone and microphone next to it. A fire extinguisher is mounted on the end of the screen of the gunnery officer's position. A vertical format negative.
