On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the shipwright's workshop between 48¾ and 50¼ stations on the starboard side of 01 deck looking aft and to starboard from the doorway showing a wooden bench fitted with a Parkinsons Perfect 15 vice. A wooden toolbox is on the left and the label on it is D. CHANDL???, 26697. A vertical format negative.
