On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the shipwright's workshop between 48¾ and 50¼ stations on the starboard side of 01 deck looking aft and to port from the doorway showing a wooden bench with drawers under and a nest of pigeon holes above. A first aid cabinet is against the aft bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
