The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). On the quarterdeck between 77 and 80 stations on 2 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is on the starboard side of the quarterdeck at 77 station looking aft and to port on 2 deck showing two sets of bollards covered with perforated wooden boxes. The davit for the Type 182 torpedo decoy is on the port deck edge. An awning has been rigged over the quarterdeck. the ship is berthed port side to the quay.
